At Bunka Gakuen University, approximately 450 international students study together with Japanese students. While learning about Japanese culture and further improving their Japanese language skills, you can acquire knowledge and skills in specialized fields such as fashion, design, architecture, interior design, and tourism at the campus located in Shinjuku, where many people and information come and go.

School Features

Bunka Gakuen University is an urban campus just a 7-minute walk from Shinjuku Station. The campus is equipped with a variety of educational facilities, including a library with 340,000 volumes, a museum specializing in clothing that is one of the best in Japan, and practical training rooms specializing in various fields that allow students to learn in a manner close to actual practice.
We aslo have a support system in place to help you lead a fulfilling student life. In addition to the acquisition of knowledge and skills in each specialized field, we offer classes to improve your Japanese language skills. Special guidance for new international students is also held to explain residence-related procedures, how to apply for scholarships, and how to take classes.

You can learn professionally and practically with equipment and systems used in the actual field.

Advice on student life in their native language from upperclassmen is also available to deepen exchanges.

Curriculum Features

Bunka Gakuen University consists Faculty of Fashion Science, Faculty of Art and Design and Faculty of Intercultural Studies. Each faculty and department offers not only practical training courses specialized in their respective fields of expertise, but also many practical initiatives such as fashion shows and joint projects with companies and local communities that expose students to social evaluation in the course of their studies. In addition, many courses incorporate group discussions, research, and presentations, fostering each student's ability to think independently in order to pursue what the issue is, communicate with others, and come up with a solution.
