Features of KCGI are as below:

In summer of 2022, a new school building had completed at the Hyakumanben campus of KCGI's main school in Kyoto. KCGI aims to further enhance the learning environment and create a new center for IT education and international exchange. The new building is an advanced and innovative building equipped with high-flex classrooms that can accommodate various learning styles such as active learning, an innovation room that encourages the development of new ideas, individual workspaces for online classes and meetings, a library with a collection of books, especially related to information technology. There is also a large lecture hall for multipurpose hall and a space for agricultural IT practices.The new center for learning has emerged in a history city Kyoto, a historic city of learning.

Curriculum Features
KCGI, which aims to cultivate specialists in field of applied informatics, incorporates the education method of professional schools in the US. Each course exists of four basic elements: lecture format, case study, project (fieldwork and discussion) and practical training. One of the main features of KCGI is to offer many opportunities to demonstrate leadership and creativity through presentations, discussions, and projects. KCGI recruits a diverse range of entrants from various fields from humanities as well as sciences, regardless major areas of study from their post graduated schools. Non-IT majors are still be equipped with a broad knowledge base, and even humanities graduates with virtually no knowledge of computers can enter in KCGI. In order to cultivate professionals, KCGI appoints many practically experienced professors with CIO's experiences in major companies. To cultivate "highly-qualified information technology professionals."KCGI's curriculum is divided into three categories, Concentration Courses that enhances knowledge in a specific field, Industry Courses that focus on practical industry experience and related knowledge, and Supporting Electives that are arranged around the acquisition of human skill, advanced theories and a tendency of cutting-edge technology. Each course is designed for students to study intensively and efficiently. Students are free to design their own course of study and it is also possible to choose courses regardless of their specific field.

For International Students
The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI) cultivates specialists in applied information technology specialists with high-level creativity and practiced skills to meet the needs of society, support current generation and lead us into the next generation. KCGI inherits the traditions and achievements of Japan's first computer educational institution, Kyoto Computer Gakuin, which trains information processing engineers to meet the needs of industry. KCGI also implements an internationally cutting-edge IT curriculum based on a global education network of universities from all around the world, including the Rochester Institute of Technology. In addition, KCGI's curriculum takes into consideration management and administration education: KCGI cultivates top leaders in fields of applying IT such as high-level IT professionals and especially CIOs (chief information officers), positions for which it is difficult to receive the proper education at traditional research-oriented graduate schools. Campuses include Kyoto Main School (Hyakumanben Campus and Kyoto Ekimae Satellite), Sapporo Satellite, and Tokyo Satellite.
There are many lectures in English and some other languages. It is also possible to obtain a degree by taking lectures in English only.
Every year international students from different countries come to Kyoto and study at KCGI.
