For International Students

The history of ESMOD, spanning over 180 years, began with the opening of its Paris campus in 1841, which became one of the focal points of the global fashion scene. Since then, ESMOD has remained at the forefront of fashion schools worldwide, thanks to its exceptional technical expertise, creativity, and its unique international network.

At ESMOD Tokyo, students have an opportunity to comprehensively learn the creative process from concept to production, where stylism (design) and modelism (pattern making) are integrated. Even those with no prior experience can acquire the creativity, knowledge, and skills necessary to become professionals.

School Features

ESMOD Tokyo provides education that integrates the ESMOD curriculum, developed over its long history, as a global common base, while incorporating the unique cultural aspects and expertise of each country and school. Through regular international conferences, we share insights on the global fashion industry and the latest methods, enriching our education with innovation and contemporaneity.

Moreover, students not only attend classes in Japanese, English, and French but also have the opportunity for short-term study abroad among ESMOD schools worldwide, allowing them to encounter new perspectives and values.

Messages from senior students and teachers

MACHADO PADILLA KARLA PAOLA/English Course/Colombia

As a fashion designer, I believe it's important to gain cultural knowledge and understanding. ESMOD, being an international school where I can meet people from all over the world, offers a great opportunity for this reason, which is why I chose the Tokyo campus. Additionally, the English course provides an excellent environment for me as a non-Japanese individual. Learning Japanese is truly challenging, and it becomes even more difficult when learning fashion terminology. Therefore, studying in English during the first and second years provides an environment suitable for foreigners like myself to deepen understanding.
