KJLTC is a Japanese language institute whose parent organization is Kyoto Computer Gakuin (KCG), established in 1963 as the first private computer institute in Japan. Our school is a Japanese language institute recognized by Minister of Justice decree, and provide the high level course designated as a "propaedeutic course" by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Our programs are designed to prepare for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test Grade-N1 or N2, and Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) for foreigners who want to enter Japanese higher educational institutions. KJLTC’s students are given priority to enter Kyoto Computer Gakuin (KCG), or The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI) after graduating KJLTC, and can acquire cutting-edge IT skills there. We hope you can come and study with us, KJLTC, in Kyoto, the traditional and cultural city.

◇Enter Kyoto Computer Gakuin (KCG) and The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI) preferentially
KJLTC’s students are given priority to enter Kyoto Computer Gakuin (KCG), or The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI) after graduating from KJLTC. Students who enter KCG or KCGI after graduating KJLTC can be eligible to apply for the fee support system for foreign students.

◇"Propaedeutic course" of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology
The KJLTC’s programs are authorized as a “propaedeutic course” by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Even if students do not meet the requirement of 12-year term of studies in primary and secondary education in their home countries, they can be eligible to apply to a higher education institution in Japan after completing our programs.

◇Use computers freely
Every student has his/her own ID and password, and can use computers freely in his/her free time.

◇KCG’s professional class is available
Students who have sufficient Japanese proficiency can attend the computer professional classes of KCG’s regular course. The credit taken in the class is recognized in KCG’s regular course after entering KCG. This system enables students to acquire cutting-edge IT skills as well as Japanese language skills.

Curriculum Features

◇Japanese
●The training of Japanese language proficiency which is necessary in Japanese higher education and preparation for JLPT N1 or N2.
●Classes are divided depending on students’ Japanese level.
●Classes are held for more than 20 hours a week. (20 weeks for 1 semester, 40 weeks for a year)
●Subjects include grammar, vocabulary, listening, conversation, reading, composition, and Japanese society and culture.

◇Subjects for JLPT and EJU
●Classes are divided depending on students’ Japanese level.
●Preparing for taking Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) and Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) by taking exams from previous years or other materials.

◇Basic subject
●Improve ability other than Japanese language and acquire the knowledge for studying in higher education institutions.
●Subjects include English, Math, Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), General Subjects (History, Geography, Civics) and IT Basics (Computer).
