Food and Environmental Sciences is an academic field that comprehensively covers all aspects of food, including food safety and security, governmental systems related to nutrition and diet, the application of data science, and the interrelation between food functionality and nutrition. Students deepen their understanding of food from scientific, technological, industrial, and cultural perspectives.
Based at the Asaka Campus, which was renovated in 2024 as a “Smart Campus for Life and Food,” this faculty offers a comprehensive education and research environment. Students develop practical skills that are directly applicable in real-world settings, enabling them to tackle a wide range of issues related to food and nutrition with expert knowledge. The goal is to foster professionals who will contribute to building a sustainable society.

Opportunities after Graduation

Graduates pursue careers in the manufacturing, sales, technology, and quality control sectors of processed food, fermented and brewed foods, and health and functional foods. Other paths include food distribution and agricultural companies, nutrition management, school lunch services, safety and hygiene management in educational settings, public service, teaching, and graduate school.
