In-depth study of cutting-edge visual expression VFX (visual effects).
Our department began in 1974 as one of the few departments that combine education in broadcasting arts and CG education, which began in 1979. Students learn mainly VFX* production techniques, which are in high demand for all kinds of visual images, including foreign films and dramas, TV, commercials, music videos, and music videos, and create visual works. Graduates are active as VFX artists, 3DCG designers, and compositors in various CG video industries.
*VFX = Visual effects that create special images using 3DCG and synthesize them with live-action images.

【Point 1】
Many graduates have participated in VFX film productions ranging from domestic commercials and movies to foreign dramas and Hollywood films.

Many of our graduates have participated in VFX productions from "Rurouni Kenshin" and "Shin Godzilla" to overseas dramas such as "Mandadoorian" and Hollywood movies such as "Wild Speed". Many of our graduates have also been involved in a wide range of projects from domestic dramas and special effects to commercials, PV, animation, projection maps, and 3D images for rooftop displays.

【Point 2】
Many students find employment in the CG and video industry with practical skills.

The strength of this course is that students can acquire practical skills that are useful in the field. Many of our graduates have been involved in a variety of video production projects immediately after joining the company, from commercials for major companies to music videos and PV productions for artists (Perfume, Sakanaction, Shiina Ringo, etc.).

【Point 3】
Learn the entire process from camera shooting techniques to video editing necessary for VFX videos.

This is one of the few departments where students can learn all production processes from camera shooting techniques, which are essential for VFX images, to compositing techniques with computer graphics under the guidance of instructors with abundant field experience.
